Mapping out success

Mapping out success–Introduction

“If your success is not on your own terms, if it looks good to the world but does not feel good in your heart, it is not success at all.”Anna Quindlen

For the word success, how difficult to supply a definite definition to suite all life-time premises. But to me, is a journey of “discontent optimism”. I say this because success never stops you from where you’re going. It cushions you further forward.

“Success is a journey, not a destination. The doing is often more important than the outcome.” —Arthur Ashe

Success life is a continuous achievement. And each one of us is born with a tag of success. In other words, you’re are “success born” person.

Below are some facts to prove my case:

Your conception was a success

You won the race among millions of sperms to become human. From records 20ml of normal semen contains about 20 million sperms of which 50% are active (motile). They have few hours or days to survive. It takes only the strong to win the race for manhood; and you were the one.

Your gestation was a success

A transformation from spermatozoa through fertilization into a human embryo is quiet a struggle to achieve success in nine months. Gestation is the period between conception and birth when a woman carries a fetus in her womb. Your mother could have aborted you. Or anything else could have happened. So you see once again you are a success.

Your safe delivery was a success

From World records, stillborn occurs in every 200 pregnancies. This is not a significant number to have escaped it. From the period of conception to delivery, the related dangers to have threaten stillborn included, birth defects, placental problems, poor fetal growth, infections, chronic health conditions in the pregnant woman, umbilical cord accidents, maternal age (35+), maternal obesity, multiple gestation, etc. Read more from <a href="">March of Dimes. But all these withstanding you’re are alive today. Is a sign of success life.

Your talents

“I’ve never sought success in order to get fame and money; it’s the talent and the passion that count in success.” —Ingrid Bergma

Talents are the links that get us straight from the curves of life. They serve as the road maps to your journey of success. You are born with them. They are the most natural ability/ies that equip you for life. Others through incessant effort acquire more talents.

“Everyone has talent. What is rare is the courage to follow the talent to the dark place where it leads.” —Erica Jong

In the parable of the talents (Mathew 26:14-30), Jesus dramatically illustrated that each person has a talent “according to his ability.”

The parable teaches that talents:

  • everyone is given a talent – no one was left out
  • are endowed – the man gave talents to his servants
  • may be multiple talent – some have more
  • must be utilized – put into action
  • can be multiplied – they got extras
  • can be neglected – one servant despised his small talent
  • can be taken off – that servant lost his little talent
  • has a reward – it pays off in life
  • has death penalty (in other words failure) – he was punished for waisting the talent
  • there is always something to do – the man told the stubborn servant what he should have done.

If you find yourself to dislike your talents start to like failure ‘cos it will catch you so soon.

From the above, there is no doubt success life is a journey that actually began in our mother’s womb. There is a Biblical quotation that supports this. (Jeremiah 1: 5)

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart…”

God knew you from endless years ago before you were born. This must surely affect your thinking to move forward. The God of humanity didn’t bring anyone here to strive with life challenges. He brought us here to prosper. He says:

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” —Jeremiah 29:11

Is this not an explicit revelation of God’s will towards you? Why do you think God doesn’t love you? His promises are sure and never fail. The problem is you find it hard to choose to be at God’s side. But only Him has the keys to your successful end.

By this far, you must be able to know that:

  • success is a journey of hope. The contrary is failure
  • it began from the womb not here
  • we are already a success because we have survived the battle to be human
  • talents are the road maps, and however unlocks the avenues of success
  • people fail because they were already a success
  • God knew us from the beginning and this is the hope we have as successful people

This is what great men dared to achieve but grabbed the wind. But to you, you can grab it now. Success is not the extent you’ll go but the essence of your impact on others at where you were.
